What we commit to
This page describes only what is running today. Every claim carries a source, a date and what it covers.

What is running
Every production server runs in Germany. Object storage sits in Nuremberg, and the DNS resolver is the one exception: it runs in Helsinki.

Four subprocessors, named with role and location in the privacy policy. The data processing agreement grants general authorisation, points to that list and gives 30 days' notice of changes. The two transfers outside the EU appear in both documents: Stripe for payment and Google for Android notifications.

CalDAV, CardDAV, WebDAV and IMAP are open on every plan, including Free. The protocols are not tied to a subscription, so you can take your data out with ordinary software and without our app. The Free plan's 5 GB applies whichever way you come in.

Exporting your data costs nothing, and neither does cancelling. If you cancel, the account continues on the Free plan instead of closing, so your data stays put while you retrieve it at your own pace.

Our German data centres fall under the EnEfG energy efficiency act. It requires full renewable coverage from 2027, caps PUE and mandates reporting to the authorities. This is law, not a vendor promise. It does not cover the DNS resolver in Helsinki.

The free DNS resolver requires no account. Queries are kept for 24 hours with a truncated client IP and then deleted automatically. The same applies to the statistics.

InfoPeak Captcha stores nothing about visitors. The service has two tables: the keys, and a monthly counter per key. No IP address, no user agent, no cookie, no row per visitor.

Caveats
The EnEfG requirement for full renewable coverage applies from 2027. So it is a requirement our data centres must meet, not one they meet today.
The free resolver does not look up domains with any third party. If a family switches on adult-content or malware filtering for a profile, however, the resolver queries AdGuard's lookup service for that profile's requests. Only a short prefix of the domain's hash is sent, never the domain itself and never an IP address.
