Website Analytics Without Cookies: Know Your Visitors Without Stopping Them at the Door
InfoPeak Analytics gives you the reports you check every morning, with nothing stored on the device of the visitor and every number kept in Germany.
A shop does not ask for a signature before you step inside. It opens the door, and the owner still knows which shelves people stop at, which window brought them in and what they bought. Most websites do the opposite. They put a form in the doorway, ask every visitor for permission, and then count only the people who clicked yes. InfoPeak Analytics is built for the first way: the numbers you need, and nothing stored on the device of the visitor.
Why the doorway got so crowded
The consent rule in Europe attaches to one thing: storing or reading something on the device of the visitor. Classic analytics does exactly that. It drops an identifier in the browser so it can recognise the same person next week, on the next site and in the next campaign. Once that identifier is there, the site has to ask first, and the banner follows.
The cost is not only the banner. Everyone who declines disappears from the report, so the numbers describe the people who click yes to banners, not the people who visit. Decisions about opening hours, campaigns and ticket prices end up resting on a sample nobody chose.
Analytics that stores nothing on the device
InfoPeak Analytics is one line of code. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage and takes no fingerprint. You can reload your own page, open the developer tools and check for yourself.
- A visit is counted, not a person followed: the visitor id is built on the server, changes every day and includes the site, so someone who visits two of our customers counts as two unrelated visitors.
- Kept in Germany: the servers and the database run in Germany, and visitor data does not leave the EU.
- One sub-processor: Contabo GmbH runs the servers. No other company receives visitor data, and there is no advertising network on the other end.
- An agreement you can read first: the data processing agreement is published in English and German, so the person who signs it off can read every clause before anyone creates an account.
The reports you check every morning
Privacy is the reason to switch. The reports are the reason to stay. The dashboard is laid out the way web analytics has worked for years, so nobody on the team has to learn a new vocabulary.
- Visits and engagement: visits, page views, engagement time, engagement rate, bounce rate and scroll depth.
- Where visitors come from: channels grouped the way you already know them, sources, mediums and utm campaigns.
- What they do: entry and exit pages, clicks on outbound links, file downloads, and events you name yourself, such as a ticket purchase or a newsletter sign-up. Mark the ones that matter as key events.
- Who they are, in general terms: countries, languages, devices and browsers.
- Any period, side by side: compare with the period before, click any row to filter the whole report, and export every table to CSV.
What it does not do
There are no heatmaps and no session recordings. They record what a visitor types and moves, which is a different promise than this product makes. There is no import of old numbers yet either: a site starts counting the day the line goes in, which is why the sensible switch is to run both side by side for a month.
Who it is for
- Museums, venues and institutions: the people who sign off on data protection get a page written for them. Read InfoPeak Analytics and data protection.
- Shops and small businesses: free up to 10,000 page views a month on one domain, no card. See every plan.
- Agencies and developers: one script tag, events from your own code and single-page apps counted without extra work. Start with the developer documentation.
Questions people ask before switching
Do I still need a cookie banner?
That is a decision for you and your lawyer, not for us. What we can say is what the rule attaches to: storing or reading something on the device of the visitor. InfoPeak Analytics stores nothing. If the rest of your site sets no other cookies either, there is nothing left for a banner to ask about.
Is InfoPeak Analytics free?
Yes, up to 10,000 page views a month on one domain, with every report included. Pro covers 500,000 page views for EUR 29 a month, Business covers 5 million page views and up to ten domains for EUR 99 a month, and each site has its own plan.
Where is the data stored?
On servers in Germany run by Contabo GmbH. Visitor data is not passed to any other company and does not leave the EU.
How does it compare with Google Analytics?
Both measure channels, campaigns and key events, and both have a free plan. The differences are where visitor data is kept and what is stored on the device. The comparison page lists the points side by side, with the sources.
Keep the door open
Knowing your visitors was never the same thing as following them. A good shopkeeper has always done the first without the second. Your website can do the same.
One line. Numbers tomorrow.
Add your site, paste one line into your pages and see the first visits in the report. Free up to 10,000 page views a month, no card.
